  • What is non-profit article?
    To register a non-profit organization, an article of this organization must be submitted to govt. The article must be prepared by a licensed lawyer in accordance with particular non-profit act. Our onsite legal team prepares it almost everyday, hence the price is much cheaper than a law firm.
  • How name approval works?
    We are an agent of industry Canada, hence have access to Canada wide name search database. Our name specialists do a pre-check into the system before we submit for name approval. If we find any conflict in the pre-check process, we will contact you and ask you to give alternative names (up to 3 names at free of cost).
  • What is by laws & minutebook?
    As per non-profit act, a non-profit org. MUST have organizational by-laws & minutebook. If CRA audits any time, you may need to show this document. It is also required to open a bank account.
  • By laws & minutebook needed?
    As per non-profit corporation act, by laws for a non-profit organization is MANDATORY. It defines the constitution and structure of the corporation. Without it, the organization is not complete and unable to open bank account. It's not a choice to select or not, but a choice to select from us or from a different law firm. Because, our onsite legal team prepares by-laws almost everyday, our price is much cheaper than other law firm.
  • CRA accounts?
    CRA business number is the unique ID No. of your organization with Canada Revenue Agency. Every Canadian entity must have this number. GST/HST account is used to claim your GST/HST amount paid when you buy supplies. Payroll account is required if org. has any staff that gets payment/wage/salary (regular or irregular).
  • What is Charity account?
    If your organization intends to apply for a registered charity and collect tax deductible donations, the organization MUST set up a Charity (RR) account.
  • Worker's compensation board
    This registration is required if your organization has any paid staff or employee now or in future (part time or full time). We register it and give you the account number and hook you with WCB authority. Please note, this does not cost any monthly premium, rather WCB authority will advise you on your eligibility of free program or fees.
  • Import export account?
    Only requires if your organization involves or have future plan to do any export or import of products. Please note it's required only for physical items (not service) that comes in Canada or goes out of Canada.
  • What is domain name?
    It's the www.organizationname.ca. Because we do name approval of your organization, you do not need to go back and forth to check the domain availability on such name. As the agent of global domain system, we can check and reserve it for 1 year, at the same time as we process the name approval.
  • Organization seal?
    This is official embossed seal of your organization. It's used on official documentations. It's also used as a protection against fraudulent activities or fake documents. Pretty much all non-profit organization have this seal. Upon order receipt, we give to an approved agency to prepare it and then we will send to you by post.
  • 1st year legal & accounting support?
    Most new non-profit org. do not have own lawyer and accountant. When you receive legal notices from CRA, federal govt. or provincial govt. all you need to do is, take a picture of it and send to us. Our legal team will explain and advise you on it.   • Important name rules?
    A name must have two elements. A distinctive (unique) element, that can't be common or popular English words. It should be a unique name or made up words. Second part is the descriptive element that normally describes the organization. The name may or may not have suffix (no obligation) such as foundation, association, institute, society etc.
  • Should I list all activities?
    Only two or three major activities should be sufficient. The description could be very brief (in a single line).

  • To register an organization, a Canadian physical address is required where the government will send documents. If you do not have a Canadian address, our agency provides registered address and mail scanning service.

    It is the location where organization is located. It can be a commercial rented space or home address. It's changeable later.

    If you are doing for a client, you may give here the name of the head of the organization. This is for government's records. We don't contact this person, rather we contact the person mentioned in billing. You can write your details in the billing.

  • Who is a director?
    Director is the overall head of the organization. You can add one or more director, but every director has equal access and power to the corporation. Please note, minimum 25% of directors (1 out of 4) must be either Canadian citizen or PR.

  • Who can be a member?
    Anybody including an employee or voluntary staff can be a member to the organization. It's not as important role as of director. You can add or remove members later.
  • What designation to put?
    Any designation is fine. You may choose any one such as VP, secretary, admin officer, general member, accountant, treasurer, other etc. Designation is more important when organization is very large in nature.

  • Provincial registration?
    Every organization MUST do registration with provincial government. This is a legal requirement to start & operate the organization. To open bank account, bank will require provincial documents as well. Registering it together with federal package, is the default process; hence, cost less money & time, while doing it separately latter is a manual process; hence, cost more money & time.
